Passive Voice of ‘Present Continuous Tense’

1. Introduction

  • In English, Passive Voice is used when the focus is on the action or receiver of the action, not the doer.
  • The Present Continuous Tense describes an action that is happening right now.
  • When changed to passive voice, the focus shifts to what is being done.

📌 2. Structure

Active Voice (Present Continuous)

Subject + is/am/are + V ing + Object

➡️ Example:
She is writing a letter.

🔄 Passive Voice (Present Continuous)

Object + is/am/are + being + V3 + by + subject

➡️ Example:
A letter is being written by her.

🧠 3. Rules for Conversion

  1. Identify the object of the active sentence.
  2. Use is/am/are according to the object (new subject).
  3. Add being.
  4. Use the past participle (V3) of the main verb.
